You will learn functional maths skills which will be useful in everyday life and in the workplace. These include: using numbers and the number system using common measures understanding shape and space working with information and data solving mathematical problems decision making

Understand how the course will be delivered.

This course will be delivered by an experienced tutor in one of our adult learning centres. The sessions will include demonstrations as well as group activities and individual exercises. To support all adult learners to succeed and achieve you will find that in many of our classrooms, including our virtual classroom, there will also be a learning support assistant to provide additional one to one and small group support where needed.

You and your tutor will assess your learning every week, and youll complete regular practice assessments. Once you and your tutor agree that you are ready, you will take your end assessment.

When youve completed your maths learning, you can progress to the next level or study one of our other qualifications in English or computer and digital skills. Having a level 2 qualification in these areas is really valued by employers when looking for a job, helping your children with homework or just enjoying everyday life.
